The abc's of a momentary monk: d is for delight
Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 12:22PM What delights you? A long plane ride, a fresh cut flower, crisp blue skies on a warm sunny day, a great golf shot, completing a great book, the cello, a good guitar riff, birds singing carelessly, a belly laugh from a toddler, a hug of gratitude from your teenager, the twinkle in the eye of your lover, a heartfelt "thank you" from a friend, knowing that you are right where God wants you to be? These are a few of mine. I delight in them and God in me.
I am standing at the Valley of the Kings in Egypt the hieroglyphic encryption reads "giver of life." Not that I am that but I delight when something I have said or written does that in the life of someone else. I think God delights in this dance too. God is the giver of Life and delights when I delight to delight, in a small way, in the delight of someone else. So live in delight and BE a delight to another person today.
"God weeps with us so that one day God may also laugh and delight with us!" ***Jurgen Moltmann
